The Particle Deconstruction Artifact Mod increases the damage of your Fusion Rifle/Linear Fusion Rifle by 40%. This mod is compatible with all weapons.
The most significant piece of information we found is that IT STACKS WITH TETHER, but only if Particle Deconstruction stacks are applied before tethering, raising debuff to 82.3 percent.
TL;DR Particle Deconstruction is a 40.2 percent damage debuff that only Fusions and Linear Fusions may stack up to 5 times on a victim. This stack may be increased by any kind of damage from Fusions and Linear Fusions, such as impact, explosion, or burn damage. Most Fusions, if not all, can reach maximum stacks in 1 or 2 shots, while most Linear Fusions need 5 shots to completely stack.

2nd revision:
Vex Mythoclast w/Catalyst Kill Bonus Damage + HEF + PD = 102 percent damage increase, making Vex do over double damage! u/c14rk0 This stacks with High Energy Fire, thus for example Vex Mythoclast w/Catalyst Kill Bonus Damage + HEF + PD = 102 percent damage increase, making Vex do over double damage!
Edit 3: in answer to u/question JRBC2000’s about whether or not it works with Tether, I discovered something quite interesting: IT DOES. It only stacks if Particle Deconstruction stacks are applied before tethering. They boost damage by 82.3 percent when used together!
I also put Divinity to the test by stacking cards beforehand, and I honestly couldn’t describe how they operate mathematically. Tether + PD results in an 82.3 percent debuff, while Divinity + PD results in a 46.9% debuff. I’m not sure how I got that; I tried it on two separate Lost Sector bosses (Cabal on Nessus and Vex on Cabal) and had the identical results; if anybody knows, please let me know!
In answer to u/InspireDespair, I’ve made a fourth edit. Because there seems to be no timer between targets, this debuff may be applied to MULTIPLE targets at once. However, my little testing indicates that each adversary has their own set of stacks; I don’t think they are universal. (For example, if you acquire 4 stacks on one opponent, the other enemy does not automatically receive 4 stacks; you must construct their stacks separately.)
What is Particle Deconstruction, and how does it work?
It’s an artifact mod at the artifact’s bottom right corner “Dealing fusion rifle or linear fusion rifle damage to a combatant for a brief period of time provides additional damage with a fusion rifle or linear fusion rifle against that combatant. This impact may be multiplied up to five times.” You’ll be able to get it about the time you reach Season Rank 33.
How much of a debuff is there each stack, and how long does it last?
This is about how much of a boost you receive each stack, and the duration is around 8 seconds from the last tick of damage dealt.

Details on how it compares against the competition
A stack will be applied for every tick of damage connected with your Fusion or Linear Fusion. I put the following to the test, and they all work:
– Every single bolt from every Legendary and Exotic Fusion Rifle frame (kinda, read note below)
— Each Vex Mythoclast bolt, including Fusion and Linear Fusion
– Telesto explosion and impact, each damage tick separately
– The impact and eruption of One Thousand Voices, each damage tick separately
– Jotunn damage from collision, explosion, and burn, each tick of damage separately
– After a precise kill, Lorentz Driver pulls in and explodes.
– Individual Sleeper Simulant refractions (i.e. 3 refractions struck Equals 3 stacks)
Note: There are some odd things going on here; I believe it’s because the game’s tick rate is limited, so not every shot of regular Fusion Rifle will have the proper damage done to the bolt; nevertheless, stacks will be applied.
Let’s suppose your Fusion fires seven bolts; the first four or five will do regular base damage, while the sixth or seventh will deal enhanced damage. However, the damage per bolt on your follow-up shot will be considerably greater, and it will almost always be with the 5x stack damage across all shots. If you didn’t hit 5x on your first shot, you’ll nearly definitely hit it on your second.
Furthermore, Fusions with rapid bursts, such as Coriolis Force and Bastion, will have their enhanced damage shots as a single LARGE number, rather as separate values each bolt.
What about my firefighting squad?
They gain from the debuff as well, as long as they’re utilizing Fusions or Linear Fusions, but without the mod, they can’t raise the stack number or lengthen the duration.
Is it possible for it to stack with other buffs and debuffs?
Given that the debuff’s visual impact is the same purple aura as Breach & Clear from previous season, I believe it’s fair to presume it functions similarly. To be cautious, I tested it with a buddy in Divinity and found that the debuffs did not stack, but it did stack with items like the Vex Mythoclast catalyst damage boost. edit 3: courtesy to u/JRBC2000 When I tested it against Tether, I discovered something quite interesting: IT DOES. It only stacks if all 5 Particle Deconstruction stacks are applied before tethering. They boost damage by 82.3 percent when used together! I also retested Divinity, this time stacking PD BEFORE Div, and I honestly couldn’t explain how they work mathematically.
FYI, the Vex Mythoclast damage boost with the catalyst is a flat 20% damage increase after a kill for approximately 3 or 4 seconds, not stacking. This stacks with Particle Deconstruction, giving you a little over 68 percent damage boost against your target for a few seconds at full stacks following a kill.
Final Thoughts
This is very powerful for both red/orange bar clearing with Vex Mythoclast and Champion slaying with normal fusions, as well as Boss DPS combinations. I envision a Legendary Fusion Rifle for the initial shot to apply stacks quickly, then switching to One Thousand Voices for full damage, or perhaps One Thousand Voices alone, since it stacks so quickly. Merciless with an autoloading Linear Fusion Rifle may potentially be a powerful combination. After a few hours of playing about with this, I simply wanted to check how Fusions and Linear Fusions interact with this mod, so I didn’t perform thorough DPS testing for any of these weapons. Please let me know what combinations you think would be excellent, if you discovered anything interesting that I didn’t, if you disagree with any of the numbers I provided, and if you have any questions.
