Mage Tower is a PvP arena game with no traditional classes. What are the timewalking bosses? How do I gear up for them to maximize my chances of success?
I’ve been attempting to find out how to make the process of preparing for the Mage Tower challenges as simple as possible over the previous several weeks.
While certain things are arguable, and I’d want to point out that not all information is 100 percent correct, I’m convinced I’ve worked out a lot and would like to share it with you so you don’t have to go through the same ordeal I did.
The primary concept is to amass as many attributes on your character as possible while adhering to the game’s regulations. Your character now has a level of 45 and an item level of 50. If your gear has a low enough itemlevel, you may employ low level enchants in specific slots. Furthermore, your objective is to have as many plugs as possible on your gear.
Aside from whatever gear you may have in your inventory/bank/void storage, the following should be your primary sources of gear:
- Nethershard Vendor (itemlevel 50 / you may have Nethershards left over from Legion) at the Broken Shore
- Greens from the auction house (itemlevel 48/50 / more likely to be a viable choice on worlds with high pop)
- Raids by the Legion (itemlevel 50)
- Mythic Siege of Orgrimmar (itemlevel 45/47) is currently in progress.
There is one element that all of these solutions have in common. You’ll gain gear with a high enough item level to get the maximum stats (or close to it), but not so high that you can’t enchant it using low-level enchants.
OVERVIEW OF THE GEAR SLOT AND CONSUMABLES (Agility, Strength, and Intellect are usually in that order): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13NmtKX9QQ rZDCuhTgGcdnvD2lVOG-rQ LIU8hOgtW8/
Additional remark:
- I’d avoid utilizing greens with an ilvl of 45 or below for auction house greens, particularly if they don’t have a socket. Try to stay between ilvl 48 and 50. The majority of them will be between the ages of 35 and 49.
- The four Mainstat gems are very rare. The Dragon Soul money may be used to purchase raw gems in Wyrmrest Temple. You may also utilize +3 Mainstat gems from TBC or +7 secondary gems (there are two types of +7 secondary gems: Argus gems need ilvl 44 and Nazjatar gems require ilvl 50).
- You may get epic gems from TBC Heroics that have stronger stats than the +4 Mainstat gems listed in the Spreadsheet. You should try farming them (Shifting/Sovereign/Timeless Tanzanite) if you really want to optimize your character’s performance. Note: The Agility version of this gem was apparently nerfed a long time ago.
I hope you found this article useful, and do let me know if you have any comments or suggestions!
I was under the notion that shoulder enchants had been removed from the game; however, this is not the case. In the spreadsheet, I made the necessary changes.

- With the mage tower challenges, Blizzard was on to something.
I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make wow a fun game for end-game players. Once you have raid gear, the absence of content becomes apparent. There’s a lot to accomplish as you level up and equip up via heroics and warfronts. It actually slows down when you’ve gotten fairly well suited up. …
