Elden Ring is an upcoming video game being developed in collaboration by game companies Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware. Announced in February 2019, it is considered a spiritual successor to the companies’ hit game “Bloodborne”, as both are set within a world of “Dragons” and Souls.
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game set within a new, original world. FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki made the game a collaboration between himself and PlatinumGames director Hideki Kamiya, which helped the two merge their differing design philosophies. The game’s debut trailer introduces the game’s characters: Dormin, a spirit that created Elden Ring and the game’s protagonist, a mysterious female wielding a hawk named Arian, and a black-clad swordsman named Eogan. The trailer introduces the game’s setting: Elden Ring, a broken world with shattered pieces of land held up by massive cliffs.
Elden Ring is set to release in 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.

During Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event on June 11th, 2020, it was announced that Elden Ring would be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. The game is currently set to release in 2021.

The game’s debut trailer introduces the game’s characters: Dormin, a spirit that created Elden Ring and bestows upon it its power; Arianne, “the Red Woman” who aids players in their quest; Zallah, “the Desert woman” who will guide players through the competitive multiplayer mode; Jeiralla, “the Stone woman” who helps players customise their characters; and Ingaran, “the Blacksmith” who will aid players in weapon creation and maintenance.
The game is described as “a dark and epic adventure through an intertwining world of breathtaking landscapes and experiences”, with players taking control of a custom protagonist, who chooses from one of FromSoftware’s signature classes: swordsman, bowman, or sorcerer. With its open-world design, the game will allow players to explore at their own pace and discover various secrets hidden throughout the world.
