Spider-Man Is Coming to Marvel’s Avengers on November 30 as a PS5 Exclusive

Is Marvel’s Avengers going to be a PS5 exclusive? Will this mean that Spider-Man is coming to the PlayStation 5 on November 30, 2019?

Crystal Dynamics has stated that Spider-Man, one of Marvel’s most popular characters, will be joining the Avengers later this month. On November 30, the game’s Spider-Man: With Great Power Hero Event, which includes a new tale focused on Peter Parker, will make the famous web slinger accessible. The event is only available on the PlayStation 5 version of the game.

Crystal Dynamics explains:

[…] AIM’s latest strategy to obtain technology that would make their Synthoid army invincible and absolute dominance inevitable is revealed by Peter Parker. To fight this imminent menace, he joins forces with the Avengers and builds a tentative relationship with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow while keeping his true identity disguised. He struggles with the new dynamics of working with a team as a Hero who is used to working alone. Will he join the Avengers full-time or continue his struggle against AIM on his own?

The following gameplay systems will be updated in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War:

Rise in Maximum Power Level – The maximum Power Level that may be achieved will increase from 150 to 175. Do you want the greatest equipment? Then you must accomplish the game’s most difficult task. Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound, a new four-player game, is ready for you.
Gear Upgrading — You will be able to recycle higher-power gear to improve your existing gear to meet the consumed item’s higher-power level (with a few exceptions).
Shipments – We’ve listened to your pleas for a way to acquire desired Cosmetics, resources, and other stuff via gaming, as well as a location to put all of your Units to good use. Take use of the Shipments function! Each Shipment costs 500 Units (the money gained while playing the game) and contains a variety of products; however, you may preview what’s in the current Shipment before purchasing it with Units. There’s a potential that the Shipment will include a premium Outfit that can’t be obtained any other way. However, you won’t need luck to earn the Outfit; you’ll get it immediately after claiming 100 Shipments. In the next weeks, we’ll discuss more about Shipments.
Weekly Objectives for Each Qualified Hero — Beginning with the Seeking the Super Adaptoid Mission Chain and the Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound, you may harvest the weekly rewards once a week for each eligible Hero, rather than just one. Crystal Dynamics is tasked with aiding Marvel’s Avengers for an unknown amount of time. In an annual report released earlier this year, Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda expressed disappointment with the game’s success, even suggesting that Crystal Dynamics was not the ideal match for Marvel’s Avengers GaaS (Games as a Service) model.

“Unfortunately, it has not proved to be as effective as we would have hoped,” Matsuda added. “However, adopting the GaaS model highlighted difficulties that we will likely encounter in future game development endeavors, such as the necessity to choose game concepts that match with our studios’ and development teams’ specific qualities and preferences.”

“While the new challenge we took on with this game resulted in a poor result, we are certain that the GaaS strategy will become more important as gaming becomes more service-oriented. How we go about leveraging this trend into our game design to create new experiences is a major topic we’ll have to solve in the future.”
